He Korowai Taonga
This korowai has a bold red (whero) base, representing strength, leadership, and the power that comes from your ancestors. In te ao Māori, red is often linked to people of high status and deep whakapapa.
Across the middle runs a green and black pātiki (flounder) pattern, which speaks to abundance, generosity, and the idea of having enough to share. Green stands for growth and new life, while black represents the spiritual world and the unknown. Together, they show a balance between the physical and spiritual sides of life.
At the top, one white (mā) row stands out. This symbolises peace, clarity, and a connection to the light. It could also be seen as a nod to a guiding ancestor or a sign of purpose and direction.
